Motta: “A Champions League finalist goes down. A great victory. We live for moments like these”

The Bologna coach who’s doing a great job, spoke after the triumph at San Siro and qualification to the quarter-finals of the Coppa Italia:

Thiago Motta enjoyed the incredible success against Inter in the extra time of the Coppa Italia round of 16: “We played a ‘total’ game – the words of the Bologna coach to Sportmediaset. Those who started did an extraordinary job, and then the substitutions brought us energy with fresh legs to give a different pace. It was a complicated match against the last Champions League finalist, and I have to congratulate everyone. We live for moments like these. The victory was extraordinary.”

“We are in a great moment,” the coach continued. “I thank everyone for the compliments towards me and the players. Reaching such a moment requires a lot of work, and this group never complains, this group works hard. That’s why they deserve a night like this. But we musn’t forget, we’re only halfway through the season, and on Saturday, another important match awaits us against Atalanta.”

Then the discussion shifted to the former player Arnautovic and the star of the evening, Zirkzee: “Marko wanted to return to Inter after doing great things in Bologna. As a coach, it wasn’t easy, but as a friend, I was happy for him. I am convinced that he will do very well at Inter. Joshua is doing fantastic jonb so far. He must continue like this.”
