She walked into a gas station, asked to call the police. And within minutes, she was in handcuffs.
After more than a year missing, Tori Milsak, 35, reappeared under stunning circumstances in Little Rock, Arkansas. But what should’ve been a moment of relief quickly turned into something far more complicated.
“I’m Sorry. I Love You.” The Last Words Before She Vanished
Milsak was reported missing on June 6, 2024, last seen in Hot Springs, about an hour west of where she resurfaced. According to her family, the disappearance followed a devastating personal loss. Her sister died in a motorcycle accident.

Tori’s brother, Jason Hamel, revealed that the family had made the painful decision to take their sister off life support. It was a decision that shattered Tori. Struggling with post-traumatic stress disorder, she pulled away from loved ones and ultimately cut off contact.
In what became their final conversation, Hamel admitted to brushing her off during a tense exchange.
“She just said, ‘I’m sorry. I love you. I’ll call in a week.’ And I never heard from her,” he recalled. “That’s haunted me for the last year… Maybe if I took an extra five minutes, things could have been different.”
The Shocking Return — and Immediate Arrest
On Thursday at 3 p.m., Milsak walked into a gas station in Little Rock and told employees to call the police, according to ABC affiliate KATV. When officers arrived, she turned herself in, stating she had a warrant out for her arrest.
Minutes later, she was booked into the Garland County Detention Center.

Authorities haven’t revealed the reason for the arrest publicly, but court records show Milsak had been charged with breaking or entering and first-degree criminal mischief before her disappearance.
Her attorney appeared in court on Friday.
A Family Torn Between Relief and Anguish
News of Tori’s return stunned her family, especially her brother.
“I’d been told that she might have been murdered multiple times,” Hamel said. “Hope was lost… but she’s that 1%.”
Despite his initial relief, Hamel expressed a mix of emotions.
“I’m very angry. Not at Tori, but at some people,” he admitted. “I want to start the healing process and rebuild Tori’s life. I want to find out what happened. Was she held against her will? It’s been a year. I want to see her, make sure she’s OK.”

A Legal Fight Ahead — and a Call for Support
In the wake of Milsak’s reappearance, a GoFundMe was launched by a close friend to raise funds for her legal battle and mental health treatment.
“She’s in urgent need of legal representation to ensure her case is handled fairly,” the friend wrote, adding that her family hopes to get her into a treatment facility.
All funds will go toward legal fees, court costs, and possible intake for mental health or substance abuse care.
A Long Road Forward
Early Sunday, Hamel posted an update saying he still hadn’t been able to speak with his sister. He also pushed back against negativity online:
“There’s still a lot of questions that need to be answered. This isn’t over, and Tori will need all the support she can get to be able to tell her story.”
From presumed dead to suddenly found, Tori Milsak’s return has cracked open more than just a cold case. It’s reopened a family’s pain, a community’s curiosity, and a woman’s long path back to stability.
