The Inter coach after the 5-1 victory over AC Milan: “I was worried about having to prepare the match in such a short time. The real challenge will come now. We have a very tough schedule ahead.”
On certain nights, it’s easier to show up yourself for the post-game interview. After the 5-1 victory over Milan in the ‘Derby della Madonnina‘, Simone Inzaghi appeared proud of his team in the post-game interview with Sky Sports.
“A fantastic derby,” exclaims the Inter coach, “and a great start to the season. Today, we were focused, and scored when we had the chance to do so. I want to congratulate the lads for what they did today and in this first month of the season.
However, we must remain focused as nothing is really won yet; the real challenge is ahead, because we have a very tight schedule with so many upcoming fixtures.”
TOP OF THE TABLE
“I was a bit worried for today because many players returned only 24 hours before the match (players from the South America), and we had very little time to prepare for the match. Now we stand at the top of the table, but we musn’t forget that the season is long and open; we’re only in 4 games in.”
“Now it will get more and more difficult, but we’ll have to be ready because we’ll have to play every three days, and there will be room for everyone to play: today, even the substitutes gave us a huge hand since many of them were returning from international duties.”
Finally, some comments about the splendid performance by Marcus Thuram: “Marotta and Ausilio wanted him for some long time now. I even spoke to Deschamps before acquiring him.
He’s been a fantastic acquisition for us; the club did well to sign him. Whether he can become stronger than Lukaku? Only time will tell said the Inter coach.
