Mick Jagger, 81, is engaged to 37-year-old partner Melanie Hamrick after a decade together

Age has never been a barrier to love, and Mick Jagger and Melanie Hamrick are proving just that. The Rolling Stones frontman, 81, is officially engaged to his longtime partner, 37-year-old former ballerina Melanie Hamrick.

Mick Jagger’s partner, Melanie Hamrick, has shared the news that they secretly got engaged years ago, but said they are in no rush to get married.

The pair first met in 2014, when their professional lives happened to cross paths in Japan. Jagger was there on tour with the Rolling Stones, and Hamrick was performing with the American Ballet Theatre.

Looking back, Hamrick said their first encounter wasn’t exactly the stuff of fairytales. “Maybe I felt a spark, but nothing amazing like, ‘Come on, I’ll blow your mind and we’ll travel the world.’ We didn’t even exchange phone numbers. At the time, I was single, but he wasn’t,” she recalled.

Despite that unassuming beginning, their bond deepened over the years, and they went on to welcome a son, Deveraux, in 2016.

Now, the couple has taken the next step in their relationship with an engagement—though they’re not in a rush to tie the knot. When asked about wedding plans, Hamrick said she’s open to the idea, but there’s no pressure.

Maybe someday we’ll get married, maybe not. We’re so happy in our current life that I’d be too scared to change anything.”

The focus, according to Hamrick, is on living in the present and nurturing their connection. “We try to support each other, be there for each other, and make sure everyone is happy. That’s the only thing I care about and what I strive for,” she added.

For now, the couple remains content in their day-to-day life, finding joy in the simplicity of their shared moments. With nearly 45 years between them, Jagger and Hamrick continue to defy conventional expectations, showing that real connection isn’t measured in years—but in mutual love, support, and happiness.
