Michael Douglas, aged 79, and Catherine Zeta-Jones, aged 54, were recently seen enjoying a day of golf in the exclusive Montecito area, radiating their enduring affection for each other.
Their relationship, which captivated public attention in the 1990s due to their significant 25-year age difference, has weathered personal challenges, establishing them as a steadfast Hollywood couple.
During their golf outing, captured by onlookers, Catherine and Michael displayed marital bliss as they navigated the green in a golf cart, with Michael taking the driver’s seat.
Catherine, who had recently shared a lunch date with her spouse in Santa Barbara, affectionately held Michael’s hand as they disembarked the cart, heading towards the grass to tee off.
Sporting chic golf attire, Catherine exuded California glamour in a sleek black jacket and matching trousers, complemented by bronze-tinted sunglasses and a visor, maintaining a polished appearance for the golf club setting.
In contrast, Michael, the son of legendary Hollywood figure Kirk Douglas, sported a striped polo shirt paired with a navy jacket and khaki cargo trousers.
The couple’s ties to Montecito run deep, as they have a longstanding connection with the area, notably through Kirk’s former holiday residence affectionately dubbed the ‘Fiddler on the Roof’ house, which Michael sold in 2022 for an impressive $6.8 million.
Following Kirk’s passing at the remarkable age of 103, Michael and Catherine, now parents to two adult children, Dylan (23) and Carys (20), continue to embrace their roles as a devoted family unit.
Their journey began with the birth of Dylan in August 2000, followed by a memorable wedding at the iconic Plaza Hotel on 5th Avenue later that year. Subsequently, Catherine welcomed Carys in April 2003, a time when she notably danced at the Oscars while pregnant and received accolades for her role in “Chicago.”
In 2013, Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones briefly separated but reconciled later that year, with Michael expressing that they were in the process of resolving their differences
Reflecting on their journey, Catherine mentioned, “Iโm very fortunate. I have a husband who listens to me, and I’m a wife who listens to him. Despite the natural ebbs and flows of every marriage, we have reached a point where we couldn’t be happier.”
During an appearance on the Today show a few years back, Catherine shared that their “extremely talented” children have expressed a desire to pursue acting, following in their parents’ footsteps. “Michael and I would be the first to suggest considering other career paths,” she added, “but seeing their passion for the craft, we support their aspirations.”
Catherine’s recent roles include portraying Morticia Addams in the popular Netflix series “Wednesday” and starring in the lead role of the National Treasure television show.
