The Iranian is in pole position to join Milanello: Porto has lowered their initial asking price.
According to ‘Sport Mediaset‘ AC Milan has returned with determination in the negotiations for Mehdi Taremi. In fact, the Rossoneri have reportedly made an initial offer to Porto following their discussions earlier in the week: โฌ15 million plus an additional โฌ3 million in bonuses tied to Milan’s on-field achievements.
This is a substantial offer and not far from Porto’s request, as they are now demanding โฌ20 million to release the forward, whose contract expires in 2024.
Confirmations of the deal have also come from Portugal, where Taremi’s initial league performances were not viewed positively by the local media. As a result, the former Rio Ave player has overtaken Hugo Ekitike as the main favorite to join the new ‘Rossonerri’ attack.
If Porto gives the green light, Milan would acquire an experienced forward, perfect to rotate with Olivier Giroud. On the other hand, Ekitike represents big talent, but despite Milan’s maximum effort, PSG has rejected the idea of a loan with a purchase option for him. Furthermore, the Frenchman has been called up by Luis Enrique for PSG’s evening match against Lens.
