Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton’s relationship revealed. How close are the pair?

Ingrid Seward, renowned editor in chief of Majesty magazine recently delved into the complex dynamics between Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle within the royal family.

According to Seward, the two duchesses never had the opportunity to develop a close bond before palace drama took center stage.

Seward, who also had a conversation with King Charles at his Highgrove estate, shared her insights with Fox News Digital. She noted that Middleton, Prince Harry, and Prince William formed a tight trio, often seen enjoying meals together at Kensington Palace. However, when Meghan entered the picture, things felt different.

“Kate, Harry, and William were a really close-knit trio,” Seward explained. “They all got on really well. And Harry was constantly around at Kensington Palace having supper with them, borrowing things from their fridge.”

Seward highlighted that Kate was typically the first person to meet Harry’s new girlfriends, fostering a warm atmosphere. However, Meghan’s arrival seemed disruptive, lacking the same camaraderie.

“Every time he had a new girlfriend, the first person that would meet her would be Kate,” Seward recounted. “And then Meghan came into the mix, and it was disruptive. It wasnโ€™t like the other girlfriends. There [wasnโ€™t] that warm feeling. I think it started on the wrong foot.”

Despite Kate’s efforts to connect with Meghan, Seward observed that their relationship didn’t evolve as hoped. She also hinted at underlying feelings, suggesting that Harry might have held a special admiration for Kate.

“I think that Meghan must have been incredibly envious and then jealous of Kate,” Seward speculated. “I heard Meghan actually thought she was going to be a princess and live in Windsor Castle. Instead, thereโ€™s William and Kate with this beautiful house, while they are stuck in Nottingham Cottage, which Harry used to call โ€˜my hovel.โ€™”

The complexities within the royal family intensified after Harry and Meghan’s decision to step back from their royal duties in 2020, citing media intrusion and racial biases. This move further strained their relationship with other members of the monarchy.

While Meghan has addressed past disagreements with Kate, acknowledging her as “a good person,” the rift between the royal wives seems unlikely to heal completely. In response to public perceptions and media narratives, Meghan Markle addressed past misunderstandings during a widely viewed interview with Oprah Winfrey, clarifying misconceptions and advocating for mutual respect between herself and Middleton. Commentators like Kinsey Schofield believe that despite any attempts at reconciliation, a genuine friendship between Meghan and the Princess of Wales may remain out of reach.
