The Serbian midfielder explains what convinced him to leave Roma and move to France.
“From the very first day I received the call from the club, I felt a positive energy.” Nemanja Matic has given his first statements as a player of Rennes.
The Serbian midfielder left Roma to move to Ligue 1 and spoke about his new adventure. “I’m doing well, I immediately felt welcomed here. Everyone has accepted me in a very positive way, and now I can’t wait to start training.”
Matic and the Reason That Brought Him to Rennes
Matic expressed his enthusiasm for the project that the French club presented to him to convince him to sign. “The project they explained to me and showed me is what attracted me to come here. The club is growing, and I’m happy to be a part of it. In my career, I’ve played against some French teams, spent a lot of time in England, and then I signed for Roma where I spent a year. I’m very happy to be able to play here, I can’t wait to start, and I’m excited for this new adventure.”
Matic reassured the fans about his physical condition: “I feel good, tomorrow I will start training, and I hope things will improve day by day. The club has many quality players, and there’s a great coach. There are also very important fans, and I thank them for coming to the airport. They welcomed me very well, and I appreciate it.”
