Marotta style! Inter plan another big free agent signing. This time they want to ‘steal’ a Napoli star

Giuseppe Marotta is planing yet another ‘under-radar’ big signing

Piotr Zielinski turned down an offer from Al-Hilal last summer and chose to stay in Italy. Although it was thought that he will continue his contract with Napoli, no such thing seems to be in the agenda for the polish midfielder

According to reports by Gazzetta dello Sport, Zielinski had agreed to an extension with Napoli last summer, even accepting a reduced salary. However, the contract was never registered due to issues regarding the players fee.

If the contract doesn’t get signed by January, the 29-year-old will be free to entertain offers from other clubs. Among the interested parties, as per Gazzetta, there are Inter and Juventus, both of whom are seeking to reinforce their midfield.

Inter is particularly focused on signing free agents due to their limited budget, which may not allow significant investments and high-priced players next season, unless they make a substantial sale.

Marotta sees the player as a perfect replacement for Mkhtaryan who is 34 years old. Other players like Klaasen and Sensi are not expected to be part of the team in the future. The polish has the needed Serie A experience and would fit-in perfectly.

If they succeed in this endeavor, it would be another under-radar steal for the ‘Nerazzurri’ . However, so far, Zielinski has expressed his contentment with Napoli, though his agent continues to handle negotiations with the club.
