Marotta: “I didn’t support Ronaldo’s signing.” Then he revealed the reason for leaving Juventus.

In his exclusive interview with DAZN, Beppe Marotta spoke about various topics, including his departure from Juventus and the signing of Ronaldo, which he didn’t personally support.

“Today in the locker room, there’s a very positive atmosphere. There’s an important mindset. At the moment, we haven’t won anything yet, so we need to stay grounded. Our record is impressive. The statistics are significant. I can’t recall a team with a +41 goal difference. The biggest challenges might come on the provincial pitches, starting with Salernitana. We need to play with the same determination we showed against Juve. We’re in first place rightfully, but the finish line is still far away.” These are the words of Beppe Marotta speaking to Dazn.

GOODBYE TO JUVENTUS AND THE RONALDO DEAL

Lastly, the CEO spoke regarding his departure from Juventus where he spent a big part of his career and the acquisition of Cristiano Ronaldo which was one of his last operations, something that he didn’t really support: “When the ownership intends to pursue a different strategy, it’s the manager’s role to step back, and I did so with a smile on my face. I gave what I received to Juve. It was right to respect the ownership’s desire to rejuvenate the management. The CR7 deal was something I partially disagreed with. The player’s quality is unquestionable, of course. However, from a financial-economic standpoint, it was a challenging operation. But that wasn’t the sole reason for the split. It was more of a change in the club’s plans that led to the end of a cycle.”
