The Belgian forward scores his third consecutive goal in Giallorossi colors and silences the critics on social media.
Romelu Lukaku has achieved a significant milestone by becoming the sixth player to score at least 59 goals in his first 100 Serie A matches. However, he raised eyebrows with a cryptic Instagram story where he expressed his feelings saying: “They insulted me, it’s the f****** truth.”
The Belgian forward, now playing for AS Roma on loan from Chelsea, scored his third goal in four appearances for the Giallorossi in a 1-1 draw against Torino on Sunday.
Lukaku’s achievement places him among an elite group in Serie A history, with only five players managing to score more in the three-points era: David Trezeguet, Vincenzo Montella, Andriy Shevchenko, Gonzalo Higuain, and Cristiano Ronaldo.
Lukaku’s enigmatic Instagram post featured a line from the song “Bâtiment” by French rapper Niska, which strongly conveyed his sentiments about how he has been treated.
It’s worth noting that Roma does not have an option to make Lukaku’s move permanent at the end of the season. Despite this, the former Inter striker has made a significant impact by finding the net in each of the three games he has started for the Giallorossi.
