Lukaku on why he left Inter: “My mind was out of place because of what happened before Istanbul.”

“Everyone would be in shock if I told the truth about the summer. In time I will tell everything. Criticisms? I am like LeBron.”

Romelu Lukaku has broken his silence, or at least partially. During the retreat with the Belgian national team, the Roman striker has decided to address some issues that have been bothering him, especially those related to his summer transfer saga, that connected him with Inter and Juventus.

“Most people in the room here know me. You know I don’t like to beat around the bush. I will speak at the right time; I will wait for the right moment. But if I were to tell the real story of what happened last summer, everyone would be shocked.”

LIKE LEBRON

Lukaku continued: “In the first days after the Istanbul final, I felt a bit uncomfortable, but my mind was out of place due to what had happened in the days before. I will talk about that in more details later.”

Then he added : “I’m like LeBron James; he has been playing for many years and has had to endure many things. But every summer, he works hard and proves everyone wrong. I also like to respond on the field. Many things have been said about me, but I am focused on Roma and Belgium.”

“I worked hard all summer, as you can see, I am in good shape, and I want to continue like this. Even the coaching staff at Roma was impressed with my condition when I arrived. I will let the field that speak for me.”

NAINGGOLAN

Lukaku also revealed a new detail about his move to the Italian capital, mentioning the involvement of Radja Nainggolan, his former national team colleague who also had a successful spell with Roma. Rom said, “I must also thank Radja; he was the one who provided my contact with Roma.”

AL HILAL

Regarding a potential move to Saudi Arabia with Al Hilal, Lukaku commented, “I was honored by the interest from Al Hilal, but after discussions, I wasn’t entirely convinced. They are the biggest club in the Middle East, and their league there will become one of the biggest in the world, but I didn’t want to leave Europe just yet.”
