Mourinho won’t be in the stands, but for Lukaku, Inter fans are preparing ‘Hell’
There won’t be any whistles (they’ve been banned, but the Nord has announced they’ll still distribute over 20,000 anyway), but certainly, there will be plenty of boos, because no one can prevent those who will boo.
Regardless of decisions and authorities’ restrictions, Lukaku’s return to San Siro won’t be a walk in the park for the Belgian, nor a celebration of good manners. Inter fans, who felt betrayed by the Roma striker twice, won’t hesitate to express their disappointment.
Lukaku, on his part, he is not afraid from the Inter fans and claims to have been emotionally close to them during earlier difficult days, but he has no intention of fuelling the hostility of the 70,000 fans at the Meazza with provocative gestures. However, this doesn’t mean he’s willing to change his habits, and if he scores, he will celebrate as he usually does.
Lukaku knows well that not only in the stands but also on the field, a hostile reception awaits him. Many of his former teammates also felt betrayed by his behavior after Istanbul.
On the other hand, Mourinho wouldn’t have any issues with a welcome. However, the Portuguese coach will once again miss the meeting at San Siro with his former fans. His suspension will keep him away from the bench.
Unlike what typically happens, it’s likely that the Giallorossi coach won’t choose to sit in one of the reserved boxes in the stands but will prefer to watch the game from the mini-van with which the coaching staff usually arrives at the stadium.
