The Giallorossi president is not accepting the draw after the dramatic ending with Milan and the late goal disallowed for Piccoli.
It could have been a fairy-tale ending, a magic built with so much effort and ruined by a use of VAR that is becoming diabolical. It’s something I’ve already said before:
“This is diabolical: Thiaw received a half-stamp and immediately got up, no Milan player protested. From now on, for every goal conceded, we will look for VAR to have it annulled. After all, a foul can always be found.’ The comment from President Saverio Sticchi Damiani, president of Lecce, is clearly critical, speaking to Dazn microphones after the incredible 2-2 with Milan and the 3-2 comeback erased by Piccoli’s disallowed goal in the 94′.
VAR has ruined a football fairy tale.
VAR usage? I speak about rules. If you want to look for a minimal details, you will find them, but in some games, an incident isn’t even seen by VAR. In others, an incident like this authorizes VAR to ruin a football fairy tale. We play football only for passion; we don’t do business. In this way, we risk ruining the beauty of this sport,” added Sticchi Damiani, who then concluded:
“Tonight, a shot from 35 meters that allows you to beat Milan from 0-2 down is ruined by this use of VAR: from today, every time Lecce concedes a goal, we will ask VAR for any foul, even the slightest.“
