LeBron James makes an important Bronny announcement after the end of Lakers’ season

With the Lakers’ season officially over after a first-round playoff loss, LeBron James is turning his attention to family. And he’s making headlines again, this time with candid remarks about his sons, Bronny and Bryce James.

On the latest episode of his Mind the Game podcast, LeBron addressed the growing spotlight around his sonsโ€™ basketball careers. In a moment of reflection, he emphasized his hands-off approach when it comes to their development, both on and off the court.

โ€œFrom Bronny growing up to where he is now and Bryce on his way to Tucson to Arizona, Iโ€™ve never got involved,โ€ James said.

โ€œI never went to a practice and sat through the whole time to see how my son was being utilizedโ€ฆ I never got on the phone with the coaches.โ€

Let Coaches Coach

James made it clear he wants his sons to be coached hard and fairly, without his influence in the room.

โ€œHeโ€™s there to coach my son. Coach him however you want toโ€ฆ I hope you hold him more accountable than any other kid,โ€ James added.
โ€œSay what you need to say, no matter how itโ€™s being said.โ€

Some might expect the four-time NBA champion to exert control over his sonsโ€™ careers. But James emphasized the importance of letting coaches do their jobs and allowing his sons to grow independently.

Bronny and Bryceโ€™s Next Steps

Bronny James recently wrapped his freshman season at USC and is currently preparing for the NBA Draft. There he may end up joining his father with the Los Angeles Lakers under new head coach JJ Redick.

Meanwhile, Bryce James is set to begin his college career at Arizona under Tommy Lloyd, one of the most respected coaches in the Pac-12.

LeBron says heโ€™ll support both sons wherever their journeys lead, but heโ€™s staying out of the way.

Looking Ahead

LeBronโ€™s comments come just weeks after the Lakers were eliminated from the playoffs by the Timberwolves. As questions swirl around his future with the team, one thing is certain: his focus on long-term development and discipline extends to his role as a father.

By choosing to step back and trust his sonsโ€™ coaches, LeBron is signaling that their success wonโ€™t be fueled by name recognition alone, but by accountability, hard work, and room to grow.
