Each athlete showcased three dunks, but it was clear from the outset who would emerge victorious. Toppin, known for escalating the complexity of his dunks, did not hold back, whereas LeBron seemed to ease off after his initial two attempts.
After completing a modest one-handed dunk on his final try, the 39-year-old Lakers star quipped, “I’m too old for this.” Facing a younger, dynamic dunker like Toppin, who is 13 years his junior, hardly seemed like an even match for LeBron. This mismatch left many of his fans longing for the days when a younger LeBron would have been a formidable contender against the league’s elite dunkers.
