LeBron James has finally broken his silence regarding the recent controversy involving Simone Biles and Donald Trump. The ex president, who is currently running for another term, faced significant backlash following his comments about the decorated gymnast.
Historically, LeBron has tended to steer clear of political debates, likely to avoid alienating his diverse and extensive fanbase. However, the gravity of the situation compelled him to speak out, showcasing his support for Biles and adding his voice against the ex President.
Biles is excelling in Paris right now
Many of LeBron’s fans were thrilled to see him publicly support Biles in the face of lots of negative attention sparked by Trump’s comments.
Simone Biles soared to her seventh Olympic gold medal with a stunning performance in the women’s vault final at the Paris Games on Saturday.
The 27-year-old gymnast achieved an impressive average score of 15.300 with her signature Yurchenko double pike and Cheng vaults, securing her second gold in this event eight years after her triumph in Rio de Janeiro.
Biles joins the ranks of Vera Casalavska of Czechoslovakia as the second woman to win the vault twice, with Casalavska’s victories occurring back-to-back in 1964 and 1968. This latest achievement brings Biles’s total Olympic medal count to 10, tying her for the third most by a female gymnast.
Additionally, Biles has now amassed 40 medals in major international competitions, the highest count ever by any gymnast.
