The Lazio coach spoke to the media after the loss to Genoa: “We have made steps forward compared to the game aainst Lecce, the result is a liar.”
Maurizio Sarri analyzed the defeat of Lazio against Genoa, the second consecutive in this Serie A start.
“We have made some progress compared to the match against Lecce, even if only in terms of attitude – We were nervous at the beginning, but from the 20th minute onwards, we did well.
We lacked the spark from some attackers who are not yet in top form. It’s a step forward nevertheless. The result is a bit deceptive, but we have to deal with it”.
Is the situation alarming? “I’m worried that many players are not game fit. The new arrivals joined the preparation late, some haven’t been training for a while. All these situations need to be sorted out, but the attitude was correct.”
Sterility in attack? “Our attackers are usually more precise, we have to work on it.
After the first two losses of the season against teams that are expected to battle for relegation (Lecce, Genoa), Lazio will face the champion and currently table leader Napoli away next saturday.
