The Lazio coach commented on another missed opportunity to win at home: “In this period, many things are not going well for us. We play well, but we are not very dangerous…
After the home draw against Monza, Maurizio Sarri analyzes another result and performance that doesn’t meet his team’s expectations:
“Between our lead and the equalizer, we were very passive. After it we had some goal-scoring opportunities, and we even hit the post,” he says. “We are going through a period where many things aren’t going our way. We need to do better, without a doubt.”
Sarri is clear about what his team needs at this moment to regain momentum:
“Our priority right now is to win in any way possible, so that we can reduce the anxiety and generate enthusiasm. We need to improve our offence, because up there we create very little. There are some signs of improvement in defence, but the solidity we had last year is missing.”
The Laziale coach acknowledged the draining effect of Champions League commitments and says:
“Playing after the Champions League is always challenging, the major issue with it is the mental and emotional fatigue. But this shouldn’t be an excuse, we did everything we could last year to qualify and be there.”
“Every team has certain characteristics, we can’t Focus solely on playing beautiful football, it would be suicidal. This team is not playing poorly; you can say it’s not very dangerous, but we are not playing badly.”
