Kat Timpf isn’t just battling cancer, she’s battling conspiracy theories and mom-shamers, too. But as always, the Fox News star is facing it all head-on, with honesty and her signature humor.
On the June 25 episode of Gutfeld!, the 36-year-old co-host made it official: she’s stepping away temporarily to undergo another surgery tied to her breast cancer journey.
“The best case scenario of breast cancer can involve quite a road to feeling whole again,” Kat told viewers. “Just so the internet can’t come up with theories about where I am, that’s where I am.”
A Journey That Started With Two Life-Changing Words
Timpf first revealed her diagnosis in February, just hours after giving birth to her son. The timing was as intense as it gets, but also lifesaving.
“I’m lucky that we found the cancer so early; I’m lucky to be my son’s mom,” she shared on Instagram.
Diagnosed with Stage 0 breast cancer, Timpf underwent a double mastectomy in March. She returned to TV two months later, announcing she was officially cancer-free. But the road to recovery isn’t over.
Fighting Off Internet Hate Alongside Cancer
While most fans show support, Kat’s also had to shut down trolls questioning her diagnosis or parenting skills.
“I promise I know more about my own case than people online,” she said in March.
Even a trip to Coachella stirred backlash.
“I’m starting to think that the only way to be a parent and avoid backlash is to be a dad,” Kat joked.
In April, she even had to shut down a fake death rumor:
“Guys, there are lots of fake accounts posting stuff about me… including this one that says I died.”
Kat’s Birth Announcement? Still Unfiltered
When Timpf first shared her son’s birth and cancer news, it was anything but a typical post:
“Don’t freak out. It’s just, like, a LITTLE bit of cancer.”
She described going from overdue pregnancy appointments to hearing she’d need a double mastectomy, then giving birth that same night.

Even heading into another surgery, Kat hasn’t lost her edge. Back in March, she posted:
“Once I recover from childbirth, get rid of my cancer, have breast reconstruction surgery & am physically capable of getting back in the gym. It’s OVER FOR U B**HEZ #MILF.”*
And after her latest announcement, fans once again showed up:
“Glad you put it out there. Shut down the rumor mill before it even begins,” one follower wrote.
For Kat, it’s never been about sympathy. Just owning her story, one brutally honest joke at a time.

Best wishes for a very speedy recovery, Kat. We will surely miss you until your return. My wife also has stage 0 breast lymphoma, and she has finished her chemo and radiation treatments. Now we are getting ready to do the PET scan to make sure there are no more active cells. I know what you are going through and pray you are completely healed!
