Jon Bon Jovi pleads openly: “Oh, it’s ‘up to God now”: Is his career over too?

Jon Bon Jovi has recently shared insights into his challenging recovery following an intense vocal cord surgery two years ago, leading him to take a break from live performances.

In a conversation ahead of the release of “Thank You, Goodnight: The Bon Jovi Story,” a four-part docuseries on Hulu commemorating the band’s 40th anniversary, Bon Jovi described his recovery process as difficult.

He compared his situation to those of renowned athletes who have faced significant injuries. “It sucks,” Bon Jovi admitted, likening his experience to the career-altering injuries of sports figures like Kobe Bryant, Michael Strahan, Tom Brady, and Tiger Woods. He emphasized that recovery does not come easily, even for the most dedicated and resilient.

IN GOD’S HANDS

As Bon Jovi navigates his way through recovery, he remains philosophical about the outcome, placing his fate partly in divine hands while continuing to work diligently on rehabilitation. “It’s up to God to fix it or not, but I’m certainly right next to the Lord himself working on it,” he stated, underscoring his proactive approach to healing.

The band Bon Jovi, which John Francis Bongiovi Jr. fronts, has reached a significant milestone this year, celebrating four decades of music. In light of this anniversary, Bon Jovi personally undertook the task of archiving the band’s materials, leading to the creation of the Hulu docuseries. This project not only marks the band’s longstanding success but also offers fans a deeper look into their journey and evolution over the years.
