A group of kindergartners were trying to become accustomed to the first grade.
The biggest hurdle they faced was that the teacher insisted on no baby talk.
“You need to use big people’s words,” she always reminded them.
One day she asked a student, “What did you do over the weekend?”
“I went to visit my Nana,” the little girl replied.
“No, you went to visit your grandmother. Now use big people’s words,” said the teacher.
She then asked another child, “What did you do?”
“I took a ride on a choo-choo,” said the boy.
“No, you took a ride on a train. Use big people’s words,” the teacher corrected.
She turned to a third student and asked, “What did you do this weekend?”
The boy proudly replied,
“I read a book.”
“That’s wonderful! And what book did you read?” asked the teacher.
The boy answered,
“Winnie the Sh*t.”
