John F. Kennedy’s grandson slammed for making ‘bizarre’ jokes about Second Lady Usha Vance

Jack Schlossberg, grandson of former U.S. President John F. Kennedy, found himself at the center of controversy this week after sharing a string of provocative social media postsโ€”culminating in a bizarre joke involving Vice President J.D. Vanceโ€™s wife, Usha Vance.

The uproar began on April 6, 2025, when Schlossberg took to X (formerly Twitter) to announce, โ€œIโ€™m having a son!! So excited about this. Cannot wait for the birth of my next child because today was the best day of my life. Out of wedlock, yes. But we might get married.โ€

He echoed the same message on Instagram, attaching a caption that read, โ€œWe named Jason Schlossberg! 5 lbs 0 ounces. April 6, 2025.โ€

The situation escalated further when Schlossberg shared a photoshopped image on Instagram featuring Usha Vance cradling a baby whose face had been replaced with his own adult faceโ€”partially covering the childโ€™s head. The post was captioned: โ€œLittle Jason and his mom. You never feel like youโ€™re ready to be a parent. Until one day, you become one.โ€

This digitally altered image drew attention from People magazine, which published a side-by-side collage of Schlossberg and the Vance family. Schlossberg then reposted a screenshot of the coverage, adding, โ€œThe joke is that Iโ€™m capable of producing a male heir,โ€ in an apparent attempt to explain his intent.

Social media users were quick to criticize the posts. On X, one person commented, โ€œSuch a troll, his grandfather would be ashamedโ€ฆโ€ while another said, โ€œYouโ€™re an embarrassment.โ€ A third user urged him to โ€œDelete this, and get help.โ€

Although this incident generated the most visible backlash to date, it wasnโ€™t the first time Schlossberg referenced the Vance family in a provocative manner. Back on January 20, 2025, he tweeted, โ€œTrue or false: Usha Vance is way hotter than Jackie O,โ€ referring to his own grandmother, former First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis.

The next day, he followed up with another controversial post: โ€œIโ€™m a literal pervert. I called my grandmother hotโ€ฆ have I totally lost it? Jesus โ€ฆ this kid will do anything for attention. Your grandfather would be ashamed. Seriously. Time to get a job.โ€

In early March, Schlossberg shared another doctored image showing Usha Vance seemingly kissing his cheek, captioned: โ€œMy love my sweet Ushie.โ€

Addressing his online behavior during a televised interview with MSNBC host Jen Psaki, Schlossberg offered insight into his social media strategy. He acknowledged deliberately provoking reactions, saying, โ€œThe internet is a place where itโ€™s difficult to break through. Especially if youโ€™re not saying something thatโ€™s controversial or at least somehow unexpected.โ€

He added, โ€œI use my judgment to make posts that I think are funny or silly but have a purposeโ€”either to make you think, โ€˜this guyโ€™s crazy. Why is he talking about his own family that way?โ€™โ€

Explaining his philosophy further, Schlossberg said, โ€œTo be honest, then you get all these retweets, quotes, and everybody flips out about itโ€”and I think thatโ€™s kind of the game that the other sideโ€™s been playing really well. Flipping people out and getting a reaction is almost half the battle.โ€

When asked who he enjoys trolling the most, Schlossberg pointed to his past social content aimed at both Vice President J.D. Vance and his own cousin: โ€œThe hey J.D. videos did pretty good online. But I think my cousin RFK Jr. is a menace.โ€
