Jamie Foxx chosen to play God in Not Another Church Movie

Jamie Foxx is set to play God in the upcoming comedy “Not Another Church Movie,” which is expected to be very soon.

The film also features Mickey Rourke as the Devil, alongside a star-studded cast including Kevin Daniels, Vivica A. Fox, Tisha Campbell, Jasmine Guy, Kyla Pratt, and Lamorne Morris. Directed by Johnny Mack, the movie tells the story of Taylor Pharry, an ambitious man tasked by God to share his family’s stories and inspire his community. However, he remains unaware of the Devil’s own plans.

The movie’s official logline reveals, “His only concern? His family and community. What he doesn’t know is that the Devil has plans of his own.” Filming for “Not Another Church Movie” was completed before the recent writers’ and actors’ strikes, ensuring its timely release.

Producer James Michael Cummings expressed his excitement about Foxx’s involvement, stating, “We are thrilled to have Mr. Foxx be a part of this hilarious comedy and bring his incredible talent to the role of God. Working with Foxx and Johnny Mack was a true blessing. This film is a unique blend of new and established talent, and we can’t wait for audiences to see the magic that happens on the big screen. This movie will not disappoint.”

Foxx, who has been recovering from a medical issue that hospitalized him in April, has largely stayed out of the spotlight. He was in Atlanta filming “Back in Action” when he fell ill. Fans can also see him in the new Netflix sci-fi comedy “They Cloned Tyrone” and hear his voice in the talking-dog comedy “Strays.”
