In a series of surprising moments on The View, Whoopi Goldberg raised eyebrows after making remarks that some interpreted as less critical of former President Donald Trump.
During a December 2024 episode, Whoopi urged co-host Ana Navarro and viewers not to panic over Trump’s immigration policies.
“Listen, he makes lots and lots and lots of noise,” she said (via New York Post), adding, “He does this to keep you all in a panic.”
That calm reaction to President Trump’s policies immediately sparked chatter across social media, with some fans asking — is Whoopi starting to see Trump differently?
Fuel to the fire
The speculation didn’t stop there.
On a January 2025 episode of The Trish Regan Show, conservative host Trish Regan openly wondered if Goldberg was “changing her tune” — suggesting that maybe Whoopi was preparing for a future where Trump-friendly media dominates.
Adding even more fuel, Goldberg later appeared to support Trump’s idea of dismantling the Department of Education.
“Maybe it’s a good thing,” she said during an April 2025 episode, suggesting it could force improvements in American schools.
Conservative fans quickly took notice, with one writing on X:
“Who gave Whoopi the red pill this morning? Trump should run a commercial on this ASAP.”
But then… a fiery clapback
Just when it seemed like Goldberg might be softening, she flipped the narrative again.
In another episode, Whoopi blasted Trump’s proposal to pay citizens to have more children, calling it “incredibly insulting” and slamming the administration’s cuts to schools and food banks.
“Clearly they don’t know how women’s bodies work,” she raged on air.
She also didn’t hold back when criticizing new White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, saying:
“Without that wokeness, you might not have that job.”
