Inzaghi: “It’s not easy to win here, I am really happy. Tomorrow’s draw? I want Man City.”

The words of the Nerazzurri coach after the match against his former team.

Securing a victory on a field that had proven challenging in the past, extending the lead over the second-placed team, achieving yet another clean sheet, and displaying remarkable solidity – these are the positive highlights that Inter takes away from the Olimpico. Thes are the initial comment from Inter’s coach, Simone Inzaghi, shared with DAZN.”

Inter give you the feeling that allows the opponent some space before striking them, what do you think?

‘Let’s say these are the matches that make coaches like me happy. We all endured together, didn’t concede much to Lazio, and won on a very challenging field where it will be difficult for everyone to earn points.’

Did you expect this impact from Marcus Thuram and Lautaro Martinez?

‘Yes, they are doing very well. But the entire Inter team is performing excellently. We came to a tough field, with many key players missing like De Vrij, Cuadrado, Sanchez, and Dumfries. We handled the difficulties well, covered the field effectively and we take the 3 points back at home.’

What obstacles lie ahead for the second star?

‘The 22 league matches remaining I guess (laughs). We’ve been at the top for several matchdays, but we must continue in a this direction. Playing every three days is not easy, but the players always provide excellent assurances.'”

Bisseck did very well too…

He was excellent, it was a great test for him because Lazio has skilled players on that side. It wasn’t easy, but he played a great game, worked very hard, and has learned Italian almost perfectly. We had Pavard, but it would have been a risk with just one training session. Bisseck did well.

Who would I like as an opponent in the Champions League?

In my opinion, I want to face Man City and see what happens. All the teams are strong. Beyond that, we know that any team that comes out of the draw will be a great test.

How did you experience the return to the Olimpico and this victory for the first time?

“For me, it’s different from other games; 22 years are not forgotten, and I will always be grateful to this club and the fans who have supported me, first as a player and then as a coach. I am happy for my Inter and the victory, but I don’t forget the kindness I received. I am not that kind of person, and I remember these fans very well.
