Inter is about to make an important move by signing their captain on a contract extension
It’s no longer a secret, Lautaro Martinez has chosen to commit to the Inter project by renewing his current contract, which expires in June 2026. This choice has been widely embraced by the Nerazzurri club, as further reaffirmed by Beppe Marotta in recent days.
For Inter, the Argentine has become a symbol, and for this reason, he will be rewarded with a substantial increase in his salary to acknowledge his status as the team’s leader, in addition to being the team captain, and to fend off any potential interest from abroad.
From Viale della Liberazione, the first official offer was sent to his agent, Alejandro Camano: โฌ7.5 million per season until 2028, along with bonuses that could take it above 8 million. This is a significant sum for Inter’s financial strategies, but it will be gladly invested in a player who is now considered a world class player.
To reach a final agreement, there will likely be further meetings because the negotiation process involves Lautaro’s entourage seeking potentially more favorable terms. However, given the clear willingness to sign a new contract, there don’t appear to be any major obstacles on the horizon.
Inter’s goal is to achieve a final agreement by December, pending a busy schedule.
