During his appearance on the FIGC’s ‘Azzurri Live’ program, Federico Dimarco discussed Italy’s upcoming matches against Malta and England, his current form with “his” Inter, and his role, which is propelling him to the top of European football.
“These will definitely be two key matches,” he stated regarding the upcoming fixtures for Spalletti’s national team, “because with two victories, we would be in a good position for qualification to the next European Championships.”
However, the chat with fans also offered a glimpse into his personal side. He began by sharing his role models during his formative years: “Personally, I had Marcelo from Real Madrid as my role model; he possessed a class that few full-backs have had, alongside Roberto Carlos. Today, the best in the world are Alphonso Davies, Theo Hernandez, and Nuno Mendes. I place myself alongside them.”
He continued, “Today, this role has changed, and in my opinion, it has become even more enjoyable than before. Sometimes, you find yourself playing in the middle of the field; previously, a full-back used to stick to their role. Scoring goals and providing assists is always fun. The strongest player I’ve faced? I’d say Ousmane Dembélé when he was at Barcelona.”
