At first glance, Anita Wing Lee and Timothy Muttoo’s love story doesn’t look like the fairytale romance most people imagine and that’s exactly why it’s going viral.
The Toronto-based couple has become an internet sensation not just because of their unconventional height difference, Anita is 5’4″, while Tim stands at 4 feet tall, but because of the heartfelt honesty with which they’ve shared their journey from “friend-zoned” to forever.
And yes, they’ve had to assure confused commenters online:
“We are not an AI-generated couple.”

“He Wasn’t What I Pictured”
When Anita, a successful businesswoman and content creator, met Tim, an engineer and nonprofit co-founder, at a birthday party in 2021, sparks didn’t fly.
Despite bonding over hours of conversation and shared values, she didn’t see him as anything more than a great friend.
“Tim started texting me more frequently, and I felt uneasy,” she later wrote. “I didn’t see him that way… But I didn’t want to lose him either.”
What held her back? Something painfully relatable: the image in her mind of what love “should” look like.
“I had always envisioned myself looking up into my partner’s eyes,” Anita admitted. “But with Tim, that wasn’t possible.”
“He Was Everything On My List — Except Tall”
As she reevaluated what truly mattered, Anita remembered another love story that reshaped her perspective: the story of Nick Vujicic, a motivational speaker born without limbs, and his wife Kanae.
That moment sparked a shift.

“I never actually added ‘tall’ to my list,” she wrote on Instagram.
“Because it just didn’t matter as much as being with someone who understood me to the core and stood by me.”
And Tim? He had been patient, kind, humble, and faithful the entire time.
From Hesitation to ‘Happily Ever After’
Their slow-burn friendship grew through road trips, deep talks, and emotional honesty. Eventually, Anita’s feelings changed. And what once felt like a limitation became a gift.
“Now I actually think it’s so adorable!” she said, referring to their height difference. “It brings so much fun and sweetness to our lives!”
They got engaged in September 2024 and officially tied the knot in 2025.

Now, the couple shares their story online, but not for attention. It’s to remind people to let go of shallow checklists and open their hearts to unexpected love.
More Than Just a Viral Love Story
Though some online still comment things like “Are you AI?” or “This looks generated,” Anita and Tim continue to share their truth with humor and grace.
“So if you’re still waiting for your person,” Anita writes, “they may not look like what you pictured… and that might be the best part.”
In a recent post, Anita addressed the curiosity surrounding their relationship:
“There’s the short version (we met through mutual friends), and then there’s the longer version, which we think is far more winding and wonderful — something we don’t want to forget.”
The couple has since written down their full story on their website, hoping it will inspire others in unexpected seasons of love.
And yes, as they often remind followers, they are not an AI-generated couple.
