Human remains found near Taylor Swift’s Rhode Island home – The details

Authorities in Rhode Island are investigating the shocking discovery of suspected human remains found just steps away from pop superstar Taylor Swift’s Watch Hill mansion — reigniting fears of a possible serial killer operating across New England.

On the morning of Wednesday, May 14, police in Westerly, Rhode Island were called to Everett Avenue, a residential area in the affluent Watch Hill neighborhood. According to NBC10, officers located what appeared to be a human leg bone just 0.3 miles from Taylor Swift’s waterfront estate.

The bone has since been turned over to the Rhode Island Medical Examiner’s Office for forensic analysis. The Westerly Police Department Detective Division is currently leading the investigation.

Officials Say “No Foul Play Suspected” — But Locals Aren’t Convinced

Despite the gruesome nature of the discovery, police are maintaining that no foul play is suspected at this time. However, residents are growing uneasy — especially considering a recent string of similar discoveries across Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire.

Westerly resident Taylor Day, who witnessed the scene unfolding, told reporters she was alarmed by what she saw.

“This is something very out of the ordinary for Westerly,” Day said. “Especially in a place like Watch Hill. I would never expect something like that to happen here.”

Day expressed concern about the official stance, saying bluntly, “Finding a leg is very suspicious. I would definitely disagree with the idea that this wasn’t foul play.”

Is There a Serial Killer in New England?

In recent months, at least a dozen human remains or bodies have been discovered throughout the Northeast. Many of the victims have been women, leading some to believe a serial killer may be targeting the region.

Although authorities have repeatedly stated that there is no connection between the cases and no threat to the public, residents are skeptical.

“My mind immediately went to all the theories being talked about online,” Day continued. “I’ve started avoiding dimly lit places and try not to be alone. I stay in public and remain alert.”
