Lucy-Bleu Knight, aged 25, “passed away peacefully” in Los Angeles on Friday, July 19, according to the rock icon, whose real name is Saul Hudson. “Lucy-Bleu was an incredibly talented artist, a passionate dreamer, and a charming, lovable, sweet soul,” Slash expressed to his 4.2 million followers.
Details surrounding Knight’s death remain unclear. Lucy-Bleu was the daughter of Meegan Hodges and Mark Knight. Slash and Hodges initially started dating in the late 1980s, separated for a time, and rekindled their relationship in 2015. Meegan Hodges also shared the tragic news on her social media account.
Lucy-Bleu Knight is also survived by her stepmother, Samantha Somers Knight, as well as her sister, Scarlet Knight. She was also the stepsister of London and Cash Hudson.
The family asked fans to not speculate about Lucy’s death
Officials confirmed that Lucy-Bleu Knight passed away at a private residence in Los Angeles County, according to the county medical examiner. However, no further details regarding the cause of death have been disclosed.
Following the announcement from her family, a photo with a cryptic message appeared on her Instagram account, @lulubleuu.
Friends, family, and fans responded to Slash’s tribute post with an outpouring of condolences. In an official statement, the family requested the public to refrain from speculating about the circumstances of Knight’s death.
“The family asks for privacy at this time and requests that social media speculation be kept to a minimum as they grieve and process the devastating loss,” the statement read.
Prior to the announcement, Slash, now 59, informed his fans that several dates for his “S.E.R.P.E.N.T Festival” tour were canceled due to “unforeseen circumstances.”
