Her heart is broken, she cannot recover from the shock: Kate Middleton received terrible news.

Less than two months ago, Kate announced she had completed her preventative chemotherapy treatments. On October 2, she met and took a photo with a teenage girl, Liz Hatton, who was also battling cancer.

Liz and her family met Kate and Prince William at Windsor Castle, fulfilling one of Liz’s biggest wishes. She had the chance to take a photo with and speak to someone she deeply admired.

Liz had been fighting an aggressive form of cancer, but sadly, less than two months after meeting Kate, news emerged of her passing. Lizโ€™s mother, Vicki Robjana, shared the heartbreaking announcement on the social media platform X.

โ€œOur incredible daughter Liz passed away in the early hours of Wednesday, November 27. She was brave until the very end. Just yesterday, she was still making plans. We are so proud of the kindness, empathy, and courage she showed over the past year.

She wasnโ€™t just a phenomenal photographerโ€”she was the best person, the most wonderful daughter, and an amazing older sister we could ever ask for. No one could have fought harder for life than she did. Thereโ€™s now a hole in our lives that will never be filled. Thank you to everyone who supported us, liked, or shared her posts. You made her last two months the best they could be,โ€ Vicki wrote.

On October 2, Princess Kateโ€”who herself was diagnosed with cancer earlier this yearโ€”invited Liz to Windsor Castle. Liz was photographing the dayโ€™s investiture ceremony as part of her โ€œphotography bucket list.โ€

โ€œIt was a pleasure to meet Liz in Windsor today. Sheโ€™s a talented young photographer whose creativity and strength inspired both of us,โ€ Prince William and Princess Kate shared on social media after the meeting.

โ€œThank you for sharing your photos and story with us,โ€ they added. The post was signed โ€œV&C,โ€ using their initials to indicate it came directly from them.

โ€œThat day was so special. Kate and William were kind, genuine, and lovely people. Iโ€™m so grateful my family and I had this experience,โ€ Liz wrote on her Instagram Story, sharing a photo of her hugging the Princess of Wales.
