Absolutely devastating… Ann Wilson undergoes surgery, begins cancer treatment
Ann Wilson, the legendary lead singer of the rock band Heart, has announced her cancer diagnosis, leading to the postponement of the Royal Flush Tour. The band decided to delay the remaining shows to allow Ann time for treatment and recovery.
On Tuesday, Ann shared in a heartfelt statement that she had surgery to remove a cancerous growth and is now in recovery. Her doctors have recommended preventive chemotherapy and a break from performing to ensure her full recovery. Consequently, the North American tour dates will be rescheduled to 2025.
Ann expressed her sincere regret to fans, saying, “To the ticket buyers, I really do wish we could do these gigs. Please know that I absolutely plan to be back on stage in 2025. My team is getting those details sorted & we’ll let you know the plan as soon as we can.” Her words reflect her determination to return despite the challenges she faces.
Tour Rescheduled to 2025
Tickets purchased for the postponed shows will be honored for the new dates, which will be announced in the coming weeks. Ann emphasized that this is just a temporary setback, stating, “This is merely a pause. I’ve much more to sing.”
The postponement affects over 50 shows across the U.S. and Canada, leaving fans and venues in a state of uncertainty. Additionally, it remains unclear if other bands, like Def Leppard and Journey, will join Heart on the rescheduled dates.
Ann’s Health Journey
Earlier this year, Heart had to cancel the European leg of their tour due to Ann’s health issues, which required a six-week recovery period. Despite these setbacks, Ann has remained positive, assuring fans that she is okay and grateful for their support.
In her closing remarks, Ann requested privacy, stating, “Respectfully, this is the last public statement I’d like to make on the matter.” This request highlights the personal nature of her health journey and the need for space during this difficult time.
