He won’t make it! LeBron James breaks a 20-year All-Star streak for a very disappointing reason

LeBron James wanted to play in yet another All-Star Game but it will not happen as he ends his streak after 20 years

LeBron James, the NBAโ€™s all-time leading scorer, made a surprising announcement just 90 minutes before tip-off on Sunday, revealing that he would be unable to play due to ongoing injury concerns.

Throughout the season, James has consistently appeared on the Los Angeles Lakers’ injury report, dealing with persistent foot and ankle issues that have troubled him for years.

“I was hoping it would feel a lot better this morning, but it’s not where I want it to be,”ย James told reportersย in a press conference before theย All-Star mini-tournament.

For the first time in two decades, the All-Star Game took place without James on the court, marking his first absence since 2004. The 39-year-old superstar, who has been a staple of the event, expressed his disappointment, simply stating, โ€œI hate that.โ€

LeBron James was originally set to compete for “Shaq’s OGs” a team that included fellow superstars Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant. However, his unexpected absence left the squad with only seven available players.

LeBron will miss an All Star Game after 20 years

The Los Angeles Lakers currently hold the No. 5 spot in the Western Conference after an impressive stretch, winning 12 of their last 15 games leading into the break.

With 30 games remaining in the regular season and the team aiming for a strong playoff push in the highly competitive Western Conference, LeBron James emphasized the importance of prioritizing his health.

โ€œI felt like it was very important for me to kind of take care of myself and understand whatโ€™s coming on [down the stretch],โ€ James explained.

For the first time in his career, James will miss the All-Star Game after being named a starter for a record 21st consecutive season in 2025.
