Piotr Zielinski’s contract with Napoli is set to expire, and renewal seems distant: that’s why Inter is going to try to bring the midfielder in the summer.
Inter has entered the race to secure Piotr Zielinski, the Napoli midfielder whose contract expires on June 30. According to ‘Gazzetta dello Sport’s‘ Inter is interested in acquiring the Polish midfielder, whose contract extension with Napoli remains elusive.
Zielinski, who turned down a lucrative offer from Al Ahli this summer, is also courted by Juventus and at least a couple of other top foreign clubs. Last summer, he was of great interest to Sarri’s Lazio. So, his future is yet to be determined, with several options on the table:
Zielinski has reportedly told his friends that he wants to stay in Italy. In the past months, he had reached an agreement to extend his contract until 2026 at a lower salary (โฌ2.5 million plus bonuses) compared to the current โฌ3.5 million. The deal was never formalized, because Piotr wanted the new salary to take effect from the following June and not immediately.”
Juventus’ presence cannot be ignored, meanwhile, Marotta, Ausilio, and Baccin have decided to add another luxury free agent to the Nerazzurri list, following their signings of players like Thuram, Cuadrado, Onana, Mkhitaryan, Calhanoglu, and De Vrij in recent years,”
Inzaghi is thinking of Zielinski only for the next season, while Allegri would need him immediately. Max has lost both Pogba and Fagioli and is in search of a midfield reinforcement. Hรธjbjerg from Tottenham, Samardzic from Udinese, and De Paul from Atletico Madrid are the names currently on the list.
They are expensive, but Juventus’ sporting director, Giuntoli, knows that they are still easier to acquire than the Polish. This is especially due to league standings and the tense relationship between Juventus and Napoli.
