After the call-up to the Swedish Under-15 national team for Zlatan’s second-born, Zlatan makes the fans dream: “On the field, he’s tough and fierce, just like me.”
Judging by the crowd and the number of journalists gathered, you wouldn’t think it was the training camp of an Under-15 team. Yet, they were all there waiting, hunting for a photo, a moment, or a remark, as if Ibrahimovic himself had arrived. The news is that they were indeed waiting for Ibrahimovic, only not the great Zlatan, but Vincent, the 15-year-old second-born of the Swedish legend.
Such a morbid interest has developed near Stockholm, where the Swedish Under-15 national team has gathered, forcing the federation leaders to intensify security measures. Called up for a camp with the national team along other 65 players of the same age (all born in 2008), Vincent Ibrahimovic is naturally the one who has captured the imagination of the press, despite relatively little being known about him.
“He seems like an interesting player. He is very good at passing, navigates the field well, understands the game, and is good in front of the goal,” said coach Axel Kjรคll for the Swedish newspaper Sportbladet.
Last season with Milan’s Under 16, Vincent scored against Juventus. Collecting the ball after a goalkeeper’s save and a left-footed shot into the net: that was enough to dream of the beginning of a new “Ibra.”
Although the role is not the same (Vincent is a midfielder), Zlatan has made it clear several times that he sees himself in him in terms of on-field attitude: “On the field, he’s tough and fierce, just like me” his father recently said.
