Akim Camara was not even three years old when he first played the violin in front of thousands.
Introduced by the world-famous André Rieu, Akim took the stage in an adorable tuxedo. What followed was nothing short of incredible. Before Akim’s performance, André shared the story of how he discovered the young prodigy.
“It’s not unusual; we often have many small children in the audience. They sit on their mothers’ laps, fall asleep by the second act, wake up at the end with full diapers, and have the time of their lives,” André said. “But not Akim. Akim stayed awake the entire time and told his mother, ‘I want to play violin too, like André.’”
Less than a year later, Akim stood on stage next to his hero, performing a fully memorized piece in front of a massive audience. This moment marked the beginning of Akim’s prodigious journey, all sparked by attending a concert.
