He is 24 years old but they say he looks nothing his dad: Richard Gere’s son has grown up.

The famous Hollywood charmer is the father of three sons, and while the children from the second marriage are still young, Gere is the proud father of one grown son who has a bright future ahead of him.

Famous Hollywood actor Richard Gere, at 74, is one of the celebrities who found great love later in life with whom he intends to grow old.

Since 2018, he has been married to Alejandra Silva, who is 33 years his junior. The couple welcomed a son, Alexander, in 2019, and another boy was born in 2020, whose name has not yet been announced.

Many people may not know that Gere is also the proud father of a grown son, 24-year-old Homer, whom he had with former Bond girl Carey Lowell. Gere and Lowell shared a long relationship and experienced a tumultuous divorce.

Richard Gere’s eldest son, Homer James Jigme Gere, was born in 2000 in New York. His names are in honor of his grandfathers, with one exception โ€“ Jigme is an old Tibetan name chosen by Richard Gere for his son, reflecting his commitment to Buddhism.

The popular actor has been a devoted father to Homer since his early childhood. The paparazzi often captured them playing in parks across Manhattan, and Gere took his son to significant sporting events and trips.

Their relationship has remained strong through the years of discord between Richard Gere and Homer’s mother. Even today, it’s not uncommon to see them together on vacation with the actor and his new wife.

Richard Gere once expressed his feelings about fatherhood: “It fills me with joy. I have to make an effort to have time for my child, but it’s incredibly fulfilling. It’s love.”

Richard Gere’s son attended prestigious private schools in New York and then went on to enroll at the renowned Brown University, which he is expected to graduate from in 2024.

In an interview, the actor noted that his family, including his son, is not fully aware of his status as a star. In fact, his son has not watched many of his films.

“He really doesn’t understand,” Gere said. “It’s very difficult for him to watch me on screen because, even when I play extreme characters, I am still his father and it’s hard for him to get into the story.”
