Giroud: “I want to stay at Milan and bring the Second Star. I know we can do it”

The French forward spoke to the media in his country: “I’m not eternal, but as long as my body allows me, I will try to push the limits. I want to have fun a bit more.”

Olivier Giroud has no intention of slowing down. He plays, scores, and enjoys himself, both at Milan and with the national team. During this break, he scored a brace against Gibraltar and enchanted everyone with an overhead kick.

“Obviously I am not eternal, but as long as I play, I don’t want to set limits. I would like to have fun a bit more,” said the Frenchman to the Journal de la Dimanche, where he discussed various topics, including Milan, the current season, and the future.

RENEWAL — The first topic is about his contract renewal. Giroud is approaching 38, but retirement is not on his mind: “I would like to stay. My contract expires next June, but I haven’t spoken with the club yet. I believe I have what it takes to continue. I can still be useful. I was already a fan of Milan in the 2000s. It has been a blessing for me to be part of this club. What I have achieved in my career goes far beyond my childhood dreams. I have no regrets.

SCUDETTO — Giroud started the season strongly with 7 goals in 14 matches. The objective is to win the Serie A title again, just like in 2022: “We definitely want to win the second star, namely the Serie A title. It won’t be easy, but we believe in it. I want to perform well in the Champions League, win the Euros with France, and then assess things.

Giroud as a coach? I don’t think so, at least not now. I don’t have the desire, I don’t know if I will ever have the energy or the will. We’re talking about a demanding job.”
