Harris Faulkner is getting candid about motherhood, racial tensions, and why her familyโs next chapter has her feeling more protective than ever.
A major milestone for her family
Fox News anchor Harris Faulkner is facing a bittersweet moment as her eldest daughter, Bella, prepares to head off to college.
In a recent interview with the Daily Mail, the award-winning journalist, 59, shared her deep concerns about the world her teenage daughters are stepping into.
Bella, 18, and her younger sister, Danika, 15, are biracial โ Faulkner is Black, and her husband, Tony Berlin, is white.
“As a person of color, and as a person who speaks boldly about faith, it’s very adjacent when people are hated for the way that they believe and their position in society,” Faulkner explained.
She admitted she’s worried about how her daughters will be treated, especially as they enter environments where racial and religious tensions run high.
“Am I more worried about them standing out for their hair texture and their skin color or their faith? I’m worried about all of it. And not just for my kids,” she said.
A family rooted in two faiths
Faulkner and Berlin, who married in 2003, have raised their daughters in a blended household that honors both Christian and Jewish traditions.
“I really think it’s important for Jewish children on campuses to know that they have partners, that the hate on the campus is a microcosm compared with the love that’s out there,” Faulkner said, highlighting her broader concerns for all students facing discrimination.
Speaking out about fairness in sports
In addition to speaking about racial and religious tensions, Faulkner voiced her views on the hot-button issue of transgender athletes competing in womenโs sports.
Referencing her youngest daughter’s elite gymnastics background, Faulkner said:
“The sport would be very different if there were biological men who could compete against my daughter. I want her to be safe. I want her to feel like her best accomplishments matter and that the competition itself is fair.”
Her comments align with President Donald Trumpโs recent executive order aimed at protecting womenโs sports.
Bellaโs big dreams and bold confidence
While Harris is understandably protective, she beams with pride when talking about Bellaโs growing confidence and ambition.
“Bella knows who she is and she’s remarkably confident about for whom she’ll vote,” Faulkner shared.
Bella plans to study early childhood education, focusing on children who need extra love and support โ a path Faulkner describes as deeply meaningful.
Taking on The View and winning the ratings war
Never one to hold back, Faulkner also threw a few punches at The View, criticizing its approach to “shouting and cussing” over hot topics.
She even called out co-host Sunny Hostin for making “dicey remarks” during a 2018 exchange, saying:
“She came for me. But you know what? I’m still here.”
And it seems the numbers are on her side.
Faulkner’s show The Faulkner Focus pulled in an average of 2.55 million viewers this January, edging out The View for a surprise ratings win.
