Former atheist Joe Rogan shocks fans with stunning Jesus admission: “I’m sticking with God”

Joe Rogan has never been afraid to ask big questions — but his latest comments about religion and science have fans doing a double take.

A surprising moment of faith?

On a recent episode of The Joe Rogan Experience, the podcast king stunned listeners when he questioned the logic behind the Big Bang theory — and suggested that believing in the resurrection of Jesus Christ actually makes more sense.

Talking with TikTok personality Cody Tucker, Rogan pointed out the contradiction he sees between how people doubt religious miracles while accepting scientific ones without hesitation.

“It’s funny because people will be incredulous about the resurrection of Jesus Christ but yet they’re convinced that the entire universe was smaller than a head of a pin and that, for no reason anyone has adequately explained, instantaneously became everything? Okay. I’m sticking with Jesus on that one,” Rogan said.

Science, miracles, and Terence McKenna

Rogan also referenced famed psychedelic advocate Terence McKenna to make his point, sharing one of McKenna’s most famous lines:

“The difference between science and religion is that science only asks you for one miracle — the Big Bang.”

According to Rogan, the idea of something coming from absolutely nothing feels harder to believe than the idea that life — including miracles — could always have existed.

“Wouldn’t it be crazier if there wasn’t something at one point? That seems even crazier than there always being something,” he added.

A complicated relationship with belief

This isn’t the first time Rogan has opened up about spirituality. He’s often described himself as “pretty atheist” growing up, but has admitted his views evolved after the death of his grandfather.

And it’s clear Rogan has a deep fascination with religious history. Earlier this year, when Christian scholar Wesley Huff gifted him a replica of Papyrus 52 — one of the oldest surviving fragments of the Bible — Rogan reacted with genuine amazement.

“Wow. That’s unbelievable. Wow. That’s so fascinating,” he said on air.

Religion, space… and Bigfoot?

During his conversation with Tucker, Rogan dove into even bigger topics — including whether God could simply be the universe itself.
He also wondered aloud if humans project their own biological limits — like having a beginning and an end — onto the cosmos.

The talk brought Rogan back to one of his favorite themes: questioning everything.
And in a now-viral exchange with musician Kid Rock last year, Rogan admitted:

“I think the concept of Jesus is absolutely amazing… I’d be psyched if Jesus came to visit me.”

Though ever the skeptic, he laughed that he wants Jesus to be real “just like I want Bigfoot to be real.”

Fans divided — and fascinated

Joe Rogan’s remarks have sparked a wave of reaction online.
Some are praising him for being open-minded about faith.
Others are wondering if the famously free-thinking host is slowly reconsidering his views on religion altogether.

One thing’s for sure: whether he’s talking about space, God, or the meaning of miracles, Joe Rogan knows how to keep the conversation wild, unpredictable, and unforgettable.
