Whatever Happened to Ainsley Earhardt’s Ex-Husband Will Proctor? From Quarterback to Quiet Exit After Cheating Rumors
As Fox & Friends star Ainsley Earhardt celebrates her next chapter with longtime co-host Sean Hannity, fans are looking back and asking — what ever happened to her ex-husband Will Proctor?
While Ainsley continues to shine under the Fox News spotlight, her former flame has taken a quieter route, stepping far away from the cameras that once followed their high-profile romance.
From College Football Captain to Wall Street Power Player
Once a standout quarterback and team captain for Clemson University, Will Proctor went on to play professionally in the Canadian Football League before retiring from football in 2008. But his winning streak didn’t end there.
He transitioned to the financial world, where he’s now a managing director at investment firm Neuberger Berman, heading their sponsor coverage division since 2012 — the same year he met Ainsley.
The pair’s love story began on a blind date and quickly led to marriage later that year. Despite a seven-year age gap, the couple appeared rock-solid. But behind closed doors, there were struggles — including a heartbreaking miscarriage before the birth of their daughter, Hayden, in 2015.
Cheating Allegations and a Public Fall from Grace
By 2019, things had taken a dramatic turn. Proctor filed for divorce — a surprising move that raised eyebrows, especially as rumors swirled of an alleged affair with one of Earhardt’s close friends.
“It was all the more devastating for Ainsley that he cheated with someone who she considered one of her closest friends,” a source told The Daily Mail. “She has evidence that proves the affair.”
Proctor, however, firmly denied the claims: “There is not one ounce of truth to the allegation that I had an affair,” he said. “I am devastated about this situation.”
Tensions reportedly also rose around the couple’s daughter, as Proctor objected to Ainsley posting Hayden on social media and featuring her on-air to enhance her public image.
What is Proctor doing now in 2025?
As of April 2025, Will Proctor is a Managing Director and the Head of Sponsor Coverage at Neuberger Berman, a global investment management firm.
In this role, he is part of the Private Credit investment team, focusing on deal origination and managing relationships with financial sponsors. Proctor joined Neuberger Berman in 2012 and has held various positions within the firm since then.
Before transitioning to finance, Proctor had a career in professional football. He played college football as a quarterback for the Clemson Tigers, where he was the team captain in 2006.
After college, he played in the Canadian Football League (CFL) for the Montreal Alouettes and the Calgary Stampeders, winning the Grey Cup with Calgary in 2008 before retiring from professional football in 2009.
