The president praises Inzaghi and confirms the main season objective: the championship title.
Steven Zhang confirms that Inter’s main goal for this season is the league title. “Inter is where Inter needs to be. We have a dream, and that dream is the ‘Second Star’, and we’re working to achieve it,” were the words said by the Nerazzurri president in the form of a video message to the team’s Christmas party, where he couldn’t be present.
After last season’s European journey, culminating in a Champions League final against Man City, it’s evident that no one within the club disregards the European competitions. Same could be said for the Coppa Italia and Supercoppa Italiana, which have enriched Inter’s trophy cabinet in recent year.
At the same time, there is a sense that the team wants to continue winning the Italian League after being stopped in the last 2 seasons. The club is especially hurt by the title lost to AC Milan in 2022. Simone Inzaghi is highly motivated to take that trophy back to the other side of Milan.
Zhang, as reported by Gazzetta dello Sport, congratulated everyone and spoke about the club’s future: “The journey to Istanbul and the the beginning of this season make me really proud. Thanks to everyone. I want to thank the management, who ensure continuity and stability. I want to also thank our coach Inzaghi for the work done; We are on the right path.”
The coach later responded with gratitude and great confidence: “We’ve had some crazy positive months, but the next ones will be crucial and we must continue what we have started. Everything makes me hopeful for the future.”
