Fans claim Juventus are ‘drunk’ as Gatti scores ‘one of the most comical own goals in history’

The Turin giants had maintained an unbeaten record in Serie A leading up to the encounter at the Mapei Stadium, but a ‘ludicrous’ own goal erased any chance of the ‘bianconeri’ continuing the run.

To pour into the misery, Federico Gatti scored one of the most baffling own goals of the season.

In an attempt to pass the ball back to his goalkeeper without looking, Gatti was unaware that former Arsenal stopper Wojciech Szczęsny wasn’t positioned in the goal.

Without checking, Gatti inadvertently directed the ball into the empty net as his teammates watched in disbelief.

Online, fans expressed shock at the own goal.

One user remarked, “Federico Gatti with perhaps the most absurd own goal I’ve ever witnessed in my life. This is unbelievable. Unbelievable.”

Another posted, “HAHAHAGSHWHSGSH WHAT IS THAT FROM GATTI LOOOL JUVE ARE DRUNK.”

The defeat results in Juventus slipping to fourth place in Serie A.
