Elon Musk’s ex Grimes ‘begging’ him not to expose their children on the internet

Canadian singer-songwriter Grimes, born Claire Boucher, recently opened up about the challenges of parenting in todayโ€™s digital world.

Known for her past relationship with Elon Musk, she shares three children with the tech mogul: X ร† A-Xii (4), Exa Dark Siderรฆl (3), and Tau Techno Mechanicus (2).

Last week, Grimes took to social media to vent her frustration about keeping her kids out of the public eye. The former couple often clashes over parenting styles. Grimes wants privacy for her kids, while Musk has been more open to their exposure.

Public Spotlight Sparks Debate

The issue gained attention after X ร† A-Xii, Grimesโ€™ eldest son, appeared at the White House with Musk. The high-profile moment came during a visit with former President Donald Trump. Online discussions about her parenting concerns quickly followed.

In a Time magazine interview, Grimes expressed her discomfort. “I would really like people to stop posting images of my kid everywhere,” she said.

She believes fame should require consentโ€”something her young children canโ€™t give. Despite her efforts, she feels powerless, adding, “Things will just be what they are. But I would really, really appreciate that.”

Struggles with Privacy and Legal Limits

On X, the platform owned by Musk, Grimes detailed her fight to protect her childrenโ€™s privacy. A user suggested she remove certain posts to shield her kids. Her response? “I unfortunately do not control the internet and cannot wipe this from the internet.”

Grimes and Musk settled a custody dispute in Texas court in August 2024, per Business Insider. Still, sheโ€™s frustrated by the lack of laws protecting young kids from public scrutiny.

“Itโ€™s insane to me that thereโ€™s no way to deal with this,” she wrote on X. “The state of my childrenโ€™s lives being public is of grave concern to me.” She thinks about solutions daily but doubts the legal system can help.

“I would hope there was some law to veto small children from living public lives,” she said, “but I donโ€™t even trust the law now, to be honest.”
