Dybala after the brace: ‘We needed this wake up call. Here’s what I think about Lukaku’s arrival.’

His words after the game: “I spoke with Mourinho, I tried to recover as best as I could during these days, and I felt good today.”

Paulo Dybala, who scored a splendid brace against Empoli, spoke to Dazn microphones after the match against the Tuscan team. Here are the words of the Argentine:

“We needed this wake-up call today. We had to send a message, change something, each one of us needed to give a little more and make a sacrifice, and today we did exactly that. I spoke with Mourinho before the game, I tried to recover as best as I could and today I felt good.”

What do you feel about the new partnership with Lukaku? I’m very happy about his arrival, but I feel the same for Azmoun, Aouar, Ndicka, and everyone else who came this summer. They will all contribute.”

You scored 18 goals last year, and you’ve started well again this season. Can you surpass last year’s tally? “I believe I’ve started similarly to last year; I think I scored a brace in the fourth game against Monza, just like today. Hopefully, I can improve upon what I achieved last year.”

Who’s team’s penalty taker? “There’s no selfishness here; whoever feels more confident will take them. It’s a matter of trust; I will take some, and my teammates will take others.”
