DONE! Saudi Arabia to host ‘World Cup 2034’. Infantino: “In times of division, football unites the world”

FIFA President Gianni Infantino confirms the location for the 2034 World Cup: it will be Saudi Arabia.

The greatest show on Earth will be hosted in 2026 in North America in Canada, Mexico, and the USA. The next two editions will be in 2030 in Africa (Morocco), Europe (Portugal and Spain), and South America, with three celebratory matches (Argentina, Paraguay, Uruguay), and in 2034 in Asia, with Saudi Arabia the sole candidate.

“Through his social media profiles, FIFA President Gianni Infantino confirms the location for the 2034 World Cup: it will be in Saudi Arabia, the only remaining candidate after Australia’s withdrawal.

‘3 editions, 5 continents, and 10 countries involved in organizing tournament matches (from 2026 to 2034): this makes football truly global,’ writes Infantino on Instagram. ‘While we live in an increasingly divided and aggressive world, we can once again demonstrate that the world’s most significant sport unites the world.’

‘Thanks to everyone who participated in this process. Football unites the world like no other sport, and the World Cup is the perfect platform to convey a message of unity and inclusion.

“We provide an important illustration of how diverse cultures can come together and learn from one another. We need these opportunities for unity, and the upcoming World Cups will provide a unique strength in this regard,” concluded the FIFA President.
