A tragic car accident claimed the life of drag racer Nathan Schaldach, famously known as Cali Nate from the Discovery TV show Street Outlaws. The incident occurred on Saturday night in southwest Texas.
Schaldach’s girlfriend, Courtney Paulshock, confirmed his death in a heartfelt Facebook post, describing him as her “soul mate.” “I am shattered. I’m in shock,” she wrote on Sunday. “I can feel my heart breaking.”
The accident happened while Schaldach was racing in Eagle Pass, a location about two hours west of San Antonio. Although his friends managed to get him to the hospital, his injuries were too severe to survive.
Paulshock chose not to disclose the details of the crash or the events leading up to it, stating she preferred to keep those specifics private. She expressed solace in the thought that Schaldach was reunited with his mother and sister, who had passed away earlier. “He went out doing what he loved,” she added.

Fans and friends of Schaldach have shared their condolences online, expressing their grief over his sudden passing. Chris Frank, a close friend, mentioned in a Facebook video how difficult it was to sleep after receiving the devastating news.
“Those of you who raced him feared him, and those of you who were friends with him loved him,” Frank said. “Racing is a very dangerous sport, and we all know that any ride can be our last. Nate was one of the last true racers with true passion and understanding for the sport.”
In her post, Paulshock also shared one of Schaldach’s final texts, vowing to love him until the end of time.
