The Giallorossi coach after the defeat against Inter: “I think it’s the right path and even the stadium has acknowledged it.”
After three consecutive victories, Roma’s coach Daniele De Rossi faced his first defeat, as the Giallorossi lost to Inter. De Rossi commented, “I think there are many positive takeaways from this match. We’ve understood that we can never lower our standards if we want to win against these teams. I believe the game was mostly balanced, but I’m proud of my boys who gave their all. The stadium recognized this, and stadiums don’t hand out compliments easily. We faced a very strong team, and I think we’re on the right track.”
“Episodes in football are everything, but matches are won collectively,” De Rossi continued speaking to Dazn. “We dropped our level a bit in the first part of the second half, and it’s normal that we lost. We decided to defend with five out of respect for our oppon. We knew we had to play a courageous game, and there would be moments when we’d suffer.”
“We still need to analyze our game,” he concluded. “I’m a product of Luciano Spalletti‘s football philosophy. He didn’t accept compliments when we lost because he believed it leads to mediocrity. A draw would’ve been fair, but Inter didn’t steal anything. If we want to compete with these very strong teams, we need to analyze this defeat. Europa League? Now we have to beat Feyenoord and be ready to play in a very hot stadium.”
