Croatia completes the picture. All the teams qualified for the EURO 2024.

These are the countries that are confirmed to participate in the next edition of the EURO 2024 in Germany.

The qualifications for the EURO 2024 in Germany are not yet finished, but several nations already have the certainty of taking part in the competition. There are a total of 13 teams already qualified: starting with Germany itself, which will host the tournament.

These are the countries already qualified:

GERMANY

Germany will host the European Championship and is, therefore, automatically qualified. In total, Germany has won the competition three times, with the latest triumph occurring in England in 1996. Since then, there has been a second-place finish in 2008 and two semifinal appearances in 2012 and 2016. Nagelsmann will lead the team as the coach, and Sane is expected to be the team’s main star.

FRANCE

France have qualified for Euro 2024 with 6 victories in 6 matches. The Blues need just one point in the next two games to be certain of the first-place finish in the group. France has clinched the European Championship twice, being champions in 1984 and 2000. Since then, their best result is a second-place finish in the 2016 when they were beat by Portugal in France. Their main star, obviously? Kylian Mbappé.

BELGIUM

Romelu Lukaku and his teammates will go to Euro 2024. It remains to be seen whether Belgium will advance as the group’s first or second (with Austria just 3 points behind). The Belgian national team has never won a European Championship; their best result is a second-place finish in 1980 in Italy.

PORTUGAL

Portugal has also secured a spot in Germany. A perfect journey so far for Leao and his teammates: 7 matches, 7 victories. Portuguese has won this competition only once, in 2016 in France and against France. The headline figure of the team remains Cristiano Ronaldo, who will play the competition for the sixth time.

TURKEY

With only one match left to play, Turkey, led by Calhanoglu and, for a the last few matches, by the new coach Montella, is already certain to participate in Euro 2024: just one point is needed to mathematically secure the first place too. The best result for the Turkish national team is reaching the semifinals in the 2008 edition held in Austria and Switzerland.

SPAIN

The Spanish national team has qualified but is not yet certain of the first position. La Furia Roja boasts 3 European Championship victories: the first came in 1964, followed by a double in 2008 and 2012. In Euro 2020, their journey was halted in the semifinals against Italy. They have many young emerging stars, from Gavi to Lamine Yamal, but Pedri is expected to lead this team.

SCOTLAND

One of the surprises of the qualifiers for the upcoming European Championship. Scotland secured the ticket to Germany with two games to spare, winning 5 matches and surpassing Haaland and Odegaard’s Norway. It will be Scotland’s fourth participation in the Euros, having previously achieved it in ’92, ’96, and 2020. Their main star? Scott McTominay.

AUSTRIA

Austria is the eighth team to have secured qualification. With a victory over Azerbaijan, the team coached by Ralf Rangnick guarantees its presence at Euro 2024. The remaining matches will determine whether it secures first or second place behind Belgium. It will be Austria’s fourth participation in a European championship, having previously participated in 2008, 2016, and 2020. In addition to Sabitzer, the name of Marko Arnautovic stands out.

ENGLAND

The ninth ticket for the Euro 2024 is rightfully claimed by Gareth Southgate’s England, which dominated Group C, ahead of Italy and Ukraine, Five victories and only one draw, away to Ukraine, are enough for England to join the previous eight qualified teams. With Harry Kane and Jude Bellingham, England dreams of conquering Europe in Germany.

HUNGARY

A point was needed to certify qualification for the European Championship with one matchday to spare. Marco Rossi’s Hungary secured it in Bulgaria on November 16, albeit with some difficulty. The standout player for Hungary is Liverpool’s Szoboszlai.

SLOVAKIA

The second national team to qualify on November 16th is Slovakia, another one coached by an Italian manager. Francesco Calzona‘s team had the opportunity to secure their spot against Luxembourg and Iceland, taking advantage of the direct clash with the Scandinavians. The final 4-2 victory secured the second place in Group J, allowing Skriniar and his teammates to secure a spot in Germany 2024.

ALBANIA

Thanks to a 1-1 draw against Moldova, Albania (Group E), coached by manager Sylvinho, secures a spot in Euro 2024. In Chisinau, the Albanian national team took the lead with a penalty from Çikalleshi (25′ 1st half) before being equalized by Moldovan player Baboglo in the 42nd minute of the second half.

DENMARK

In Germany, Denmark will also be present. Eriksen and his teammates secured a spot in Euro 2024 with a 2-1 victory over Slovenia, with the goals from Maehle and Delaney proving decisive.

NETHERLANDS

Just one goal from Weghorst was enough to give the Netherlands the certainty of participating in the next European Championship. Ireland defeated 1-0: the Oranje advance as runners-up in Group B behind France.

ROMANIA

Romania came from behind against Israel and qualified with one match to spare for the upcoming European Championships. Thanks to goals from Puscas, Genoa’s forward, and Hagi, former Fiorentina player. The Romanian national team thus returns to compete in a European Championship after skipping the 2020 edition.

Switzerland

The draw against Kosovo was painless for Switzerland: and secured a ticket to Germany 2024 alongside Romania. However Switzerland has lost the first position due to the defeat to Romania in the last game of the qualifications

SERBIA

Serbia’s draw against Bulgaria ensured the qualification for Euro 2024t. It will be Serbia’s first participation since the separation from Montenegro. In Germany, therefore, players like Kostic, Vlahovic, and Vanja MilinkovicSavic will also be present.

ITALY

No goals against Ukraine, but the 0-0 is enough for Italy to qualify and fly to Germany in 2024. The Azzurri will have the chance to defend the title they won at Wembley in 2021, but being in the fourth pot, there is a risk they may end up in a very challenging group.

SLOVENIA

Slovenia secures a 2-1 victory against Kazakhstan and qualifies for Euro 2024.

CZECH REPUBLIC

The Czech Republic seals a hat-trick, annihilates Moldova, and secures passage to Germany.

CROATIA

Croatia‘s success against Armenia has completed the picture of the national teams directly qualified for Euro 2024. Now, only the three teams emerging from the March playoffs are missing.
